Cyber-Sniper, Where are you?

After going through all the previous posts and re-reading the answers put forth by the person whom we call The Cyber-Sniper, we have concluded that this is the person to lead the town forward, out of it's present quagmire, and into the future with all of his political acumen and ideas he has so vociferously put forth!!

So, Mr. Sniper, if you will call this number 466-2949 extension 11, and speak to the person who answers, we will be sure and get you on one of the tickets for the forthcoming election in November. We will be waiting to hear from you!TIFN

What are you doing, trolling for candidates? Sounds like they'll need experience in tag team wrestling and "political economics"! Good luck.

That was hysterical. How about a roller derby and a debate, too!

Hey Everret,
How come you havent brought up any of the nonsense going on with the harbormaster. Seems like a hot topic.

Sam said...

Ooh, that and Balser getting on Dodge just like the good ole days!

I'll tell you one thing though, when you go into public service (read "public servant") you have to have nerves of steel. I think our Cyber Sniper has all that, and maybe ain't such a bad person.

Chris - I think he'll be just fine but needs a week off (ahem, yes I did read the paper).

I should know about all the nervy stuff, I worked for the state 10 years and had to go on Preparation-H!

some more insights on island life from a guy in Texas. Maybe Sam should run for town council. God knows he could solve all our problems

Aw, kinda cute in a provincial sort of way ... I mean no offense but you were basically telling me to bugger off.

Well hey, everyone has a right to be nice, flame, be sarcastic, whatever. This IS the Internet, you know. Have away with it.

I am currently involved in my island politics and Everett was in his island politics and we're just a bunch of old, moderate conservative blow-hards with thick skulls.

Which is why people love us, of course!

Haven't noticed any of us advising you on your local politics. Guess you could call that provincial.

Hey cool, I just find the subject of BI politics rather interesting, but rest assured, I do consulting for international shipping and have no truck with BI so ...

I love to surf. Can I change the subject for a nanosecond? I once body surfed over one of the huge rocks near Black Rock. There are actually two or three.

Drifted too far West. I thought I would die, saw the barnacles, and closed my eyes. Before I closed my eyes I saw an incredibly hairy girl on the beach in a yellow bikini. How on Earth I lived to tell the story today is a complete mystery.

"Jesus Shaves" is what I was thinking.

Jesus Shaves?? how bad is that?:)

I haven't gotten into the C. Willi thing because my oldest son is in some conflict with that man in his capacity as the Harbormaster. All of a sudden after operating down there for 19 years, Mr. Willi NEEDS (that) spot for a pump out boat for some reason. Can't imagine why.. The portable unit virtually sat behind the shack for four or five years till it fell apart ! To much conflicts of all sorts going on there so I am keeping my big mouth out of it.Tifn

Sounds like a load of s--t. Sorry ... couldn't resist that one. You might think it's bad but it's my bread and butter!

Bobby's had a free ride there for all that time. Time to pay the piper.

Everett said...

Well Mr. Anonymous, FYI, Bob has had NO, I repeat NO, "free ride" down there at the dock. For the last 19 years he has paid the same rate per foot as every other boat down there for two(2) slips! And by the way, he and his crew have repaired that friggin' dock so many times for free, that the town should pay him to use the slips. Guess who the Harbor master and the town police, and on occassion, the USCG call when there is a sinking boat, a person in need of a trip to the hospital on a foggy night when no helos are flying, a child on a surf board rescued on more than a few occassions, a boat needs a tow, a boat needs to be taken off the beach because of stupid drivers, a boat raised off the bottom of the harbor because the asshole owner can't remember to keep his bilge pump battery charged. The list goes on for the length of that damn dock and you have the unparalleled stupidity to make such an un-informed and asshole statement! So I'll say it again, don't let your alligator mouth overload your hummin'bird ass when you apparently have no idea what the F**K you're spouting off about!

Everett said...

Oh yeah, he was also responsible for hauling off a couple of truck loads of trash and garbage from the beach this past summer and on other occassions to. He has surely been enjoying his "free ride" all this time! and the "piper" has been well and truly paid !!TIFN

No matter how good deeds he has done, i have a problem with someone running a private operation on town property. I have the same problem with the use of weldons way as a moped training ground.

Everett said...

Well As I see it then you also have a problem with all the rest of the Charter boats and all the lobstermen, fishermen who ALL without exception, run Private businesses off the Town Dock! That is how the Town manages to bring in some money. If you have this problem about someone running a private business on Town property, then I guess by extension that would include all the taxi's using the roads, as well as all trucking concerns, the beach concession, the people who run the school lunch program at the school. I will agree with you about the mopeds though. The actual business is on private property but they do use Weldons way as a "private" training ground, and they pay NO fees for that use, unlike all the other people cited. TIFN

I like your rational...but it crumbles when you make a doubble standard for mopeds. Why can trucks use the roads to ship, but mopeds not use it to train. Or Everette, why can bob use the dock to advertise and solicit clients? If you don't like mopeds, cool, but don't ruin your argument by trying to make a legal doubble standard.

And I alos think Bob does a great job...he is always there to help when people need it.

I'm not sure the proper analysis is just on use but on how the road or dock is used. It's one thing for folks to use roads and docks for their intended use, it's another thing when a property is used for a purpose it was neither intended nor designed.

Any licensed vehicle can use Weldon's way for its intended purpose, which is for traveling. The road was not intended to be a proving course for moped riders nor was it designed with that purpose in mind. Logic seems to call for a training ground that would be set apart from traffic and allow riders to 'master' the necessary skills in an environment that provides them with a safe training ground.

Is the dock being for a purpose other than the business that normally is associated with boats?

Hey Everret,
Looks like just the mention of our Harbormaster has caused a stir whether you wanted to get into it or not. I am just surprised to see how ill-informed some folks are before making stupid comments. I cant believe someone would think that its a free ride to operate a business from the town dock. Or that it is an abuse (of the dock)to advertise your business where you have your business. The topper was the person who has a problem with a private business on town property. Maybe you should start a spinoff blog for 'worlds dumbest postings'. Sssheeesh!

Sam said...

Hey anonamystery that was well said and bravo! Before something wierd happened and my message vanished (huh?), I wanted to compare historical use of the town docks to the public nuisance which is mopeds blasting up and down Weldon's Way on dive-bombing training runs.

They two things, Everett, "apples and oranges."

By way of exiting, may I ask the rhetorical question of why some super intellingent people are even bothering to comment on this dumbshit blog, if it is deemed to be below their station? Whooo ....

anonyninny said...

Mmmmmmm.
Here's a thought.
Maybe the dock could be used for moped training
That might solve some problems!

How 'bout "Ride the Rail" at Ballards?

Anyhoo, please excuse the "dumbshit" remarks ... the entire dockside situation seems rather complex and politically sensitive. And this is a great blog!

Some thoughts, without having the local knowledge (at least this year):

* A certain person proposes fixing the town docks for the first time in decades. I like that spirit, although the "devil is in the details."

* Federal grants were received to improve on the public docks at Point Judith. Last I checked, those were all commercial fishing fishing boats.

* The RI fishing industry has had over a century of working with public entities to promote safe docks, funded by dockage fees. Unfortunately, the fishing industry is declining as costs rise, quotas are imposed, issues such as lobster shell disease, and fish prices plumetting due to imports.

* Support your local fishing industry, including the charter boats. Friends don't let friends eat imported fish products.
