More Junk

Well, I have to eat some 'crow' this morning. It seems as if there really are some responsible boaters out there. There are a group of young guys who come over here quite often on their jet skis and park them on the earlier mentioned beach. I gusee they were a little upset with the way things looked, so they took it upon themselves to get hold of a bunch of trash bags and tools and proceeded to rake up the beach and pick bags of junk out of the base of the breakwater. Then they hauled all the bags to the dock and went to get the Harbormaster to back his truck onto the dock whereupon they loaded it all on board and drove it to the dumpster. I was flabbergasted and very impressed with what they had done. As they passed me by, I thanked them most vociferously on behalf of all the people who live here. Guess I should have waited a day or two before I unloaded on the boaters. It is never good to paint everyone with the same brush. Thanks again guys! TIFN

Now's the time to get folks "stoked" about a beach & harbor cleanup before they all go home. I think you'd be surprised at the turnout, even if done informally. Heck, it's a social occasion and people love doing good, really. Thanks for the posting, Everett! sam

THanks for the blogger picture advice, Everett. After downloading two programs I figured out that Blogger.Com allows you to just put in the path to the pic on your hard drive, although that was not easy because the "Browse" button seemed busted. You have to admit, some "eye candy" pictures in there sure makes for a nice posting!

I read in the BIT that a passel of young'uns helped clean up the area by the old dump, which I applaud. When we visited last, my daughter (18) ended up there with some teenagers and she couldn't believe the trash and how wild the parties were - she told us she was a little uncomfortable up there. I mean, is that the unoffical teen party spot so the Town can keep the wildness restricted in one place?

What with being an old fart, I don't get down to that part of the Island when it is party time for the kids, so I can't comment on it. I'm sure that if all the kids know where to go partying, the Fuzz do also! I would hope that they are doing 'things' to control it. What's up with the post above yours? Is this a new way to spam the blogosphere. I made a mistake and clicked on the highlighted blue and got some car insurance ad. I probably also got a good dose of spyware loaded along with it! Thats the last time I do that dumb-assed trick! I've got Webroots Spyware and one called ad-aware running to hopefully catch these things.TFIN

Hah, I'll be more careful about Wonder Women at the helm of a Moped and you be careful where you do yer clickin'!

Might have been a manual thing on that ad, since if it was automated you might get 10,000 messages. So consider yourself lucky - the Blog software is pretty hacker proof.

Now that both us ole farts have stepped in the doggie do ... I guess a good old laugh is in order. sam

Sam,
Wonder Women? Really? :)

Naw, that was in jest. For my business I have to write dry, technical stuff for clients like the Corps of Engineers ... you never get a chance to be funny. Example: they have a regional air team (RAT) that is working on a harbor air mitigation plan (HAMP) but they got into a big fight and nothing hardly got done. So, being myself (a big mistake), I suggested "Why don't you just throw the RAT in the HAMPER."

Yeah, another dud. Boo. Just can't get no respect, I'm tellin' ya!

Hey Sam!
Thanks for being a good sport!
Sometimes I just get a bit weary of all the PC.
Stay cool!

It takes a lot to make this old man mad and I was laughing so hard - did you really make up the Barbie & Ken thing just for us? Every once in a while we let out a blooper, which I guess makes us human. Here's a classic: I was telling my wife that we could grow 'couch potatoes' under the sofa by the TV, maybe a little water and a grow light, and she looked at me and said "Really?"

Then she saw my grin and started chasing me out the back door, laughing hysterically.

Sam,
Guilty as charged.
From your posts I've noticed that you have a sense of humor. Although, Everett is the one who really inspired me. I didn't think I could let your comment drop after he posted the misogyny thing. I just didn't want to disappoint him.

It is nice to hear good things every once in a while. And Everett, I believe those offending spams were deleted, too. Say hi to your grand-daughter Pinkie for me!
